What does a black belt mean to me?
Let’s start off from the beginning.
When I was a white belt and going for the yellow belt, during the grading I felt a little bit confident but mostly scared, as I was only a white belt and hard only just started.
Now when go for black belt I should only feel a little scared because I know that I have learnt so much and been practicing hard. A person wearing a black belt should be treated with respect, because everyone can see that wearing the black belt has put a lot of effort and trouble to be such a high rank of Martial Arts.
This is how I want to feel when I grade for Black belt and especially every time I put it around my body.
All the mistakes I make during the grading, in class I will perform better in that area twice as much to be ready for the next grading.
When I get my black belt I would like to help instruct the other younger and lower belts.
Becoming a black belt has taught me that anything is possible if you work hard at it. I have also a greater respect for the other black belts and my teacher Michael Tan because I know how many years of hard work he has done to achieve his belt too.
I feel more confident with grading and very proud. It is AWESOME to be a black belt.
